Katy Perry Prismatic tour
I’ve been a fan of Katy Perry for years now and the name of her latest tour, Prismatic, really caught my attention. Having two daughters who both like her music, I heard it a lot. (Ask my husband, who can also tell you that he listened to her…A LOT…on both of our cross-country trips from CA to SC and back to CA. Thank you, Katy, for being part of the memories!) When we heard she was coming back on tour in our town, we talked about getting tickets. Katy’s not just a good singer and an amazing entertainer, but she gets it. She gets social media and the need to connect with her audience and fans, and like everything else she does, she does it in a big way.

She’s worked with high schools on her ROAR video and continues to stay accessible to everyone via Twitter, and even if you aren’t a Twitter user yourself, you can’t help but enjoy the tweets. The excitement of those involved? Priceless!

Tickets go on sale on January 27, but if you’re a Citi card, you can buy tickets NOW. For more information on that, visit Citi Private Pass. There are also party packs available if you want to be a VIP!

This four-month tour will be on a new state-of-the-art ‘not a bad seat in the house’ stage and Kacey Musgraves and Tegan and Sara will open for Katy. I’m even more excited! We’ve taken our kids to concerts before, but this would be a first mom-daughter concert, so who better than Katy Perry for that first time memory?

For more info, visit Katy’s site, then head over to Twitter to follow Katy. Then you can pop in a Katy CD and start dancing. It’s FRIDAY!

<California girls, we’re unforgettable…>  Yes, Katy, we are!!

Disclosure: This isn’t a review! I’m just a Katy fan excited to share tour news. Who’s with me? Anyone else going??

The girls are so excited! We were lucky and got pre-sale tickets via a Facebook page/code; the section sold out quick but regular tix go on sale today and I’m really curious to see how fast the whole thing sells out. We love “California Girls” and so many of her songs, I can’t wait!

The Road to Hana is one of Maui’s most popular t The Road to Hana is one of Maui’s most popular tourist destinations…and with good reason. If you’re headed to the island, it’s definitely worth the time. Wear your bathing suit under your clothes, pack some water, snacks and a towel, and go on an adventure that will take you past some of the prettiest natural scenes you’ll ever experience. On the way back, get dinner at the Island Cafe — just head back before dark, as even the locals will tell you it’s best done during the day. The road is one-lane in 59 places, so it can be an exercise in patience. If you’re getting a rental, you’ll appreciate something smaller on this trip; parking can be tough, and there are tight squeezes in some of the turns. (Rental agencies also won’t cover incidents you may incur if you take the road all the way around the end of the island instead of turning around and heading home.)

And if someone pulls up beyond you, waving and yelling, don’t get upset! The locals are beyond kind but they’re used to making the drive so they do this to ask that us slower drivers pull over so they can go around. (They’re not yelling anything bad, I promise! They just want to be sure they get your attention.)

The drive may not be something you want to do on every trip, and it’s not necessarily great for kids after the first waterfall, but everyone needs to do it at least once.

Sushi is one of the prettiest foods out there and Sushi is one of the prettiest foods out there and one of our favorites. Our go-to place is Satsuma in Rancho Cucamonga. Great food, fun environment and top-notch service. And maybe some karaoke if you stay late. (Next time, I’m watching only 🤣)

Lighting is very much mood lighting, so photos are darker than I’d like but I really wanted to show off this plate! You cannot go wrong visiting Satsuma. Two seatings per night, reservations required.
