My title says it all.
If you are a migraine sufferer, my thoughts are with you. If you are married to one or parent to one, my sympathies. If you’ve never had a migraine, thank your lucky stars!
I’m finally back at full-speed today after another long migraine. My doctors have tried every known migraine cure, and a few experimental things, throughout the 25 years I’ve had head pain, without much more than temporary success.
What does work? Knock me out..for days, until it goes away.
Unfortunately, you can’t function that way. Parenting, running a business, working, house chores, you name it, it’s hard enough to do any of it with a migraine but with pain reliever on board? And by pain reliever, I mean prescription-strength, because nothing else gives even momentary relief until it just goes away.
I can’t control the migraine, but I can control my environment <somewhat> and that meant little computer time that wasn’t 100% necessary and leaving dinner for dh to make. (Thank goodness, he cooked in restaurants in a pre-marriage so I know the house won’t burn down or we won’t be poisoned.)
But I’m back! On tap today? Making peach amaretto jam and gumbo. Tomorrow is fig jam and English muffin bread..to put the jam on, of course. Our fig trees are suddenly going wild. I told the kids we’re on “fig duty” daily, in the hopes we can keep up with getting them chopped and frozen daily for what will be weekly jam-making sessions. It’ll be time to run to Dollar General on Monday (no Walmart or anything big in our tiny town) to pick up another case of pint jars…unless the family just powers through them, which is okay, too!
Back tomorrow with pictures!
