Starting the New Year Right with Yoplait Greek 100 Calorie Yogurts!

Today’s post is sponsored by Yoplait, by my love for their Greek 100 yogurt option is all my own! (Tough job, getting to try delicious food like Yoplait Greek 100 yogurts, right??)

Yoplait Greek 100

I posted a couple of weeks ago about how I don’t do resolutions. That doesn’t mean though that I don’t plan to start the new year off right and refresh my healthy living plans now that the holiday dinners and events are behind us. Last week, I was back on track with running, yoga, pilates and weight lifting. I also went back to my healthy breakfast routine, which actually was harder!

My normal morning routine is get up, do chores, get Little Dude out the door to school, run, shower and get to work. If I stay on task, it all comes together nicely and I get to start work knowing the house is in order, the family is all where they should be and I have done something for myself. (I also feel relieved to have the exercise behind me so I can stay motivated to eat properly all day. I never want to undo a good thing!)

I usually eat breakfast at my desk, and since I have so many other things to do, breakfast can’t be a long, drawn out or tedious affair. It’s frequently a smoothie, where I literally dump a few ingredients into the Vitamix and go about my day. My smoothies usually include unsweetened almond milk, Greek yogurt, kale, banana, peanut butter, green apple and/or berries. I try to mix up the combinations while still getting the most benefits and flavor.

But, as much as I love smoothies and their health benefits, I get bored easily and want to mix it up. Still though, it has to be fast and easy so when I was given the opportunity to try the new Yoplait Greek 100 yogurts, I jumped at it. I headed out to the local Safeway/Vons and bought 10 containers. There are so many flavors! Apple pie, banana caramel, black cherry, blackberry pie, Boston cream pie, coconut, honey, key lime, lemon, mango, mixed berry, orange cream, peach, pineapple, plain, raspberry, strawberry, strawberry cheesecake and vanilla.

Each yogurt has 100 calories, 10-12 grams protein and 0% fat. And all I have to do is grab a spoon and head to my desk. Perfect! I won’t get bored with all these flavors, and if I want to get creative and start adding toppings to mix in, I can do even more. I could even put a container in a smoothie!

As soon as I brought them home, my youngest son wanted one. I gave him a strawberry flavor and he quickly at the whole thing…at his desk, hence the lighting. Like mother, like son.

He loves yogurt and since we’re a healthy household, he knows the health benefits to eating yogurt. At 14, he’s into weight-lifting and getting “rockhard abs,” so he seeks out foods that will help and he knows calcium is good for his bones. No struggling to get him to eat the right things when it tastes as good as these Greek 100 yogurts! They are the perfect snack for after school or before Tae Kwon Do.

I tried the Blackberry Pie right away. So good! I had some strawberries left over from Saturday’s birthday party and grabbed a few of them as dippers. You can’t go wrong dipping fruit in yogurt and I think all of the Yoplait Greek 100 flavors lend themselves to this. I could add in all sorts of things to make new taste combinations and textures and keep us all on our healthy routine.

As a working mom, business owner and blogger, I’m frequently on the run. I love to have choices of things to grab and throw into my bag for a between-meal boost, and Greek 100 yogurts are easy. (Is it bad to admit I usually have plastic spoons in the glove box of my car? If it is, then I don’t….)

Things like this make it easy for me to stay on track without excuses. The yogurts are affordable, the perfect size and with so many flavors, the entire family will find something they like. In fact, I may have to tell people what flavors I want, as in HANDS OFF!

What is your favorite way to eat yogurt and how would you mix it up with Yoplait Greek 100 yogurts? Visit Yoplait’s Pinterest 150 calorie snack hack board to get some ideas! Let me know what you try and anything else you come up with!

Seeing T’Challa, aka Black Panther in the parks Seeing T’Challa, aka Black Panther in the parks is awesome….and in this case, I kinda got to see two. Check out his shadow on the right.

At Disney California Adventure last week, maybe I had bad timing but I didn’t get to see many characters roaming. I got lucky for this photo, and was so glad he stopped before heading into Avengers HQ. I’m headed back to Avengers Campus next week and I hope to see Moonknight and Scarlet Witch…and maybe snag new Wanda ears.

Spent yesterday afternoon at Hamilton Brewery here Spent yesterday afternoon at Hamilton Brewery here in Rancho Cucamonga. Tried a few of their amazing craft beers: Watermelon Man (limited availability, tastes like a melted Jolly Rancher 🍉), Double Mango (just like it sounds 🥭), POP Blonde (passion fruit combination 🍍) and Cold Fool (grapefruit yum). My favorite was the Watermelon Man but all four were fantastic. Also sampled the Bignight Oil (barrel-aged bourbon and imperial stout) and we’re going to go back to have it specifically. Sticking with one flavor profile at a time! They provide samples so you can be sure you like it before you settle in at a table outside (in shade if you want it) to enjoy it with one of the many food trucks options that rotate as well as live entertainment. We listened to Heritage Harmonic yesterday while the city of Rancho co-sponsored a charity cornhole tournament that was fun to watch.

Magilla’s BBQ was on-site from noon to 4pm with brisket, pulled pork, smoked mac and cheese and more. Those pickled onions 😘 SO good, all of it.

All my friends know I am not a fan of the color pi All my friends know I am not a fan of the color pink, which made it even more fun to choose it for our over-the-top fancy costumes for our friend’s annual Kentucky Derby Party. A trip to a local thrift store and then to the Dollar Tree, and I was ready to assemble our outfits. Pink My Kitty Pony toys and a bunch of hot glue and baby head bandeaus turned our hats into silly pieces of art, and for $18, I bought the dress, the hubs’ shirt and tie. Add a few fake flowers onto my Carlos Santana shoes (that I already had) and the hubs’ shirt and we’re good to go. The party was a blast, and it was fun being foofy for the day, bourbon drinks and champagne in hand while eating delicious finger foods.

If you’re considering a thrift store run, look for a Deseret store near you. The prices are fair and the store gives back to the community in many ways; our location has its own job development/search building attached. How cool, right? We win with affordable clothes and it helps actual people, not big business. (And I frequently find items with tags still on. That tie is a Jos A. Bank tie, marked $58 normally, and I got it for $6!)

I took a much-needed break this morning and headed I took a much-needed break this morning and headed to a local park I drive by all the time but haven’t ever explored. It’s a breezy day, perfect for walking its paths through rolling hills and fields of flowers, permeated with the heavy scent of jasmine from the many blooming bushes. Then I happened upon this solitary rose. There’s some symbolism here, an analogy I can’t put words to satisfactorily, but check it out. It’s all by itself, far away from any other flowers, popping up wild in the middle of plain mulch, no real reason for it to be there but it’s thriving. Its vibrant red petals and green leaves make the surroundings stark. You almost miss it if you don’t look past the dark green plain shrubs behind it; it doesn’t appear that it’s supposed to be there. Alone, peaceful, beautiful, it will probably grow and fill the empty space around it, attracting 🐝 🐝 . It doesn’t need anything else, yet it has changed the whole garden area into something different. Life should be like that more often.

If you haven’t done a superhero pose in Avengers If you haven’t done a superhero pose in Avengers Campus, are you even a fan?? As Disney Magic Key holders, my daughter and I go together frequently. I love that she’s as into Marvel as I am, so you can find us in Avengers Campus doing all the photo opps, eating all the themed food and maybe enjoying a cocktail at Pym Tasting Lab. Which is your favorite photo opportunity in Disney California Adventure? (Bonus if it’s an Avengers-related one.)
