Orange Buttercream

Ingredients

  • 3 sticks butter, softened
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp half-and-half or heavy cream
  • 2 tsp orange extract

Instructions

  1. Whip softened butter until light and fluffy. This may take several minutes.

  2. Add in powdered sugar and milk, and mix slowly until it starts to come together. Then increase the speed of the mixer to combine them thoroughly.

  3. Add in extract and whip until fluffy, but don't overbeat.

  4. Pipe onto completely cooled cupcakes in any style you prefer.
