I’m a Gen X mom of four, a Marvel geek, wine nerd, writer, and creator of Dangerous Cupcake, a Southern California lifestyle blog about wellness in midlife. As my kids enter different stages of their lives, I get to do the same — learn a new instrument, get out and have fun, love Disney, try new adventures, and not let my age define anything. Last night’s dinner at Uno Tre Otto in Claremont Last night’s dinner at Uno Tre Otto in Claremont on their new rooftop was a perfect evening. Fantastic service (thanks, Martin!), excellent food and cocktails and OMG the dessert! We started with drinks, of course. I got the White Lotus, a tart white rum drink that I could have easily ordered two more if I wanted to stumble home and go to bed. SO good. The other drink is a Black Manhattan, strong and when that breeze blew, I could smell the bitters. Yummmmmmm. Next up was Amy’s Salad, with fresh greens picked at Amy’s Farm in Ontario in the morning. Farm to table at its best! We each ordered the Pappardelle with blue crab, which I enjoyed with a glass of 2022 Giacomo Fenocchio Barbera d’Alba. Then dessert, the incredible Butterscotch Budino. Give me that and three White Lotuses, it’s all I need 😂😂 So glad we sat rooftop! Headed home from Disney, hungry and wanting a cock Headed home from Disney, hungry and wanting a cocktail? Broken Spirits is your place! Residing in an old doctor’s office, complete with a morgue in the basement, Broken Spirits is full of nods to Disney, unique cocktails, and delicious food…including this $6 slice of Mushroom Pizza! Pizza is kind of a misnomer, because it’s one filling slice of focaccia covered in mushrooms, multiple kinds of cheese, and crispy onions. Start with one, it’ll probably be enough! 
Cocktails, while one is enough (I mean, drink responsibly), there are so many to choose from. I’ve got a list saved up for my next visits. And while you wait for your food and drinks, take a tour around the building. Little surprises are everywhere, including hidden rooms, and the decor is changed seasonally. Halloween promises to be a doozy, including Haunted Mansion props…though there is currently a huge Jack Skellington upstairs. Yes, there are stories of sounds and voices, and while they showed us the morgue, we did not go down those steps. Not that brave! I did explore the upstairs dining room in the dark at closing time.
