So when you’re in your 50s, many people want you So when you’re in your 50s, many people want you to step back. Let the younger generation take over….but we’re not retired and we’re better than ever. We’re active, we’re traveling, and our businesses are thriving. Why be quiet? I’m several months into a major weight loss and I’m not selling diddly squat. I’m freely telling people what worked for me: no shots, no meds, all calorie counting and increasing activity. There are no shortcuts but you CAN do it. Is it easy? No…but it’s doable, and I feel fantastic. No more tummy-tuck layers, holding my breath for pics or going without the food I want. I’m not selling anything but I can tell you what I did…for free. I don’t believe in gatekeeping, but I will send you a link to my blog post. I used Noom…and a freaking ton of willpower and looking forward to the future. You CAN do it, even in menopause. You can enjoy whatever you want while being mindful. Wellness is easier than it looks. Midlife is the time to pick those brushes back up Midlife is the time to pick those brushes back up and get creative! I signed up for a paint and sip night at Solorio Brewing and had a blast! For only $5 (and the cost of a beer…or two), Jennifer led us through a tutorial to paint a beach scene worthy of hanging on my wall! (Art is subjective so no judgment 😂😂) I haven’t painted on canvas in forever but this has motivated me to pick up the hobby that was once my college major. Joining the military, having kids, starting a career…these things all pull us in multiple directions and we sometimes have to put aside an interest we once loved. That doesn’t mean it’s permanent though! What have you delayed doing? Go out and do it! Take the time for yourself, get out of your brain and stop thinking about what’s stressing you out, even if only for a few hours. I used Hatch Pepper Kettle Corn from Melissa’s Produce and it was delicious, coming in at 375 calories and 38 grams of protein for the entire pint. I may or may not have eaten it for breakfast today. I also share a rundown on Melissa’s Produce summer fruits and the summary of the Hatch Pepper recipe demo by Chef Tom Fraker, as well as Hatch Pepper fun facts, courtesy of Robert from Melissa’s!
