How I Got to Help Choose the New Johnny Rockets Vegetarian Menu!
Did you hear? There’s going to be a new Johnny Rockets vegetarian menu option!
As I’ve shared quite a few times here, I’m unable to eat beef. I cry a little each time I say that, because I love beef. A good rare steak or juicy burger is a thing of beauty. However, I prefer to avoid feeling like I’m being internally stabbed with a bunch of little knives. This means I always have to look for an alternative when everyone else is ordering a big, fatty burger. Some restaurants make this less possible than others, so I eat a lot of salads or chicken strips. Or I order buns filled with grilled onions and cheese, and I’m hungry two hours before everyone else. I love salads, chicken strips and crazy sandwiches, but nothing’s the same as that juicy, red, dripping burger covered in bacon, cheese and all the fixings.
Thanks to Johnny Rockets, I have one more burger restaurant I’ll be able to visit and not order chicken. Coming up soon, we’ll all be able to go in and order their new vegetarian burger! Johnny rockets has 360 locations in 30+ countries, so that makes it a lot easier for anyone between Miami and California to enjoy a burger with the rest of the gang. Johnny Rockets has been around 30 years now, and most people know it as a family restaurant with amazing burgers, french fries, ketchup drawings and unique seasonal shakes. (There is a Candy Crush float on the menu right now, but hurry, it’s going fast!)
How I Got to Help Choose the New Johnny Rockets Vegetarian Menu!
Last week, I was part of a group of bloggers invited to Johnny Rockets in Orange to taste test the ‘contestants’ for the vegetarian burger. I had a score sheet to mark down my ratings and crackers to cleanse my palate. Each choice was so different, so it was a lot harder than it sounds!
The evening was a lot of fun. Helping a restaurant choose their new menu? That’s a first! The choices were all delicious, and all different and it was a tough decision.
We also had a few moments to chat with Calvin Harris, Head Chef of Johnny Rockets. Such a sweet guy who means business in the kitchen! The entire crew was so busy ensuring everyone got their samples quickly and that we had any questions answered. Like every other visit to Johnny Rockets, the service was quick and friendly. We go often as an after-school treat just for the ice cream!
I don’t know the winner yet, but I can guarantee it’s going to be good. I look forward to visiting with Little Dude for a summer lunch, choosing music from our table-side jukebox, eating a burger just like he does and closing out the meal with a frosty dessert. Thanks for the fun time, Johnny Rockets, and being so interested in our votes! Can’t wait to come back and try the new burger!
